Sometimes I find myself on Apple Trailers, looking at movie trailers, almost at random, looking for something to latch onto, something to look forward to, for however many months is necessary to wait in order to see a particular film. From the very first cut of film footage in this trailer for 300, I was engaged. Combined with the melodic and haunting piano from Nine Inch Nails' "Just Like You Imagined", I can't see how anyone could not want to see this film. Though somewhat fantastic in nature, 300 is based upon the ancient battle of Thermopylae, in which an army of 300 Spartans held off a vast Persian army for days. Based upon Frank Miller's graphic novel of the same name, 300 looks to be a beautifully realized piece of film. And seeing as how it's being released two days after my birthday next year, you can be sure how I'll be spending my birthday.
