The Prestige

Earlier this evening I attended an advance screening of The Prestige, a film that I had been looking forward to seeing since first seeing the trailer for it. I must say that the wait was well worth it. The film did not dissapoint one bit. The Prestige may be the best film about magicians ever. Okay, so that's not saying much. But the film is still quite a ride. You have a rivalry between the characters portrayed by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. You have mystery. You have convergent story telling. And like a magic trick, you have more than one twist that blows your mind. Through and through, The Prestige was an excellent film. It won't be winning an academy award or anything like that, but it is still a damn good movie that will entertain and delight. I give it two thumbs up and a hearty recommendation.
